UPSL Round 2: JASA fires home another win in nine goal thriller

9/24/2017

On a night filled with a lot of emotions, JASA kicked of their second match of the UPSL with a minute of silence for our teammate and friend Pierre Meloty-Kapella who left us too soon two weeks ago in a tragic accident.  His family was in attendance and our deepest condolences and sympathies are extended to them.

The game started off well for JASA as much of the first stages of the game were played in East Bay Stompers Jr's half.  Things didn't really start to heat up until the 32 minute when Arturo Gomez slotted home from the penalty mark after a foul in the box.  It didn't take long for JASA to get the second as Emanuel Vazquez finished from close range in the 35th minute.  It got better as Vazquez scored again right before half time to give JASA the 3-0 lead.

The first stage of the second swung to Stompers Jr's as they got on the score sheet first.  However the momentum was short lived as Vazquez got his third from a cross from Ivan Maric.  JASA got another from substitute Jesus Cruz who hit a rocket from 30 dipping into the top corner after a nicely slotted ball from fellow substitute Chandpreet Sandhu.  Stompers Jr's answered with two more but Cruz put the game out of reach with his second after a nice service from Danilo Darce.

JASA has a bye next weekend but returns to the pitch with an away game to Dynamos FC.
